Power Steering Assist
This is the connector from the harness to the power steering module.motor in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata (I believe it is common to Elantras and Sonatas for the period.) In my car, the pink wire broke right at the connector and there is no power assist. The connector shown is NOT from my car but from a U-pull-it.I would like to pull the pink wire, splice it with the harness wire in the car and replace the broken pink wire in the car. But I don't know how the wires come out of the connector. There are tangs inside that may push with a very small screwdriver – or there is a red plastic shaft that sits horizontally in the middle of the connector and comes out but I still see no way to remove and reinsert the small wires in the connector. Any assistance would be most appreciated as the dealer wants almost $4,000 for a complete wiring harness.
As the text indicates, I do have photos but I am having trouble uploading them to a URL. Perhaps, if you know the wire/connector I am referring to - it goes into the right front corner of the module, readily accessible under the dash - someone can help. But I will get the photos uploaded as soon as possible.
