I own a 2009 Sonata with approximately 21000 miles. I change the oil religiously .. replaced air filter etc. I was driving recently and the engine light came on. I have an inexpensive hand held scanner and determined that a P2096 code was being thrown. Someone suggested replacing the oxygen sensor or cat converter .. regardless whatever needs to be replaced I would think that neither the o2 sensors or the cat converters would fail after 21000 miles which lead me to assume that this is something that might be covered under the 8-YEAR / 80,000-MILE FEDERAL EMISSION AND PERFORMANCE WARRANTY. Any ideas?
