New to the forum. Thought I would try to get an answer here.
I'm doing a spark plug change. I just pulled out the original plugs and they are NGK SILZKR7E11. I went to the NGK website and it says that these were for the earlier 2.4L Hybrid engine. Supposedly the 2016 2.0L Hybrid motor should be using a SILZKR8E9G. Heat range and gap are both different. Did the wrong plugs go in accidently during the model change that year? Was there a running change that this 8E9G plug supersedes the 7E11?
Dealer parts dept can't tell me. He gave me the Hyundai number 18849-09070, but he said the system doesn't tell him which NGK plug will be in the box.
Web has conflicting information. Some say the 7E11 and some say the 8E9G.
Anyone out there know the correct one to put back in?
Thanks in advance for any information.
