Will I need to remove any part of the intake manifold to replace the front valve cover gasket?
Will I need more gaskets than the valve cover gasket?

I live in a very small rural town and I am getting mixed signals from the local experts.

Thanks

zuikoglass, were you able to figure out what it took? I'm attempting the job on a 2008 with the 3.3 v6 and it looks like a lot bigger job than I thought.

Sorry can't provide the details of the work needed.

My son who is an auto service writer and amateur mechanic said he could do it in about an hour and a half. Then he moved to Florida.
I finally took it to the only local shop and at $80/hr they charged $225 including the $75 gasket kit. So, my son's estimate was right on.

I had to wait several weeks because they were too busy. It was the height the farm equipment tire season!

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense. Likely they didn't have to remove any part of the intake manifold if it could be done that quickly??

I'm really thinking I should replace both valve cover gaskets and the spark plugs, as I'm at 174k now. That will probably add a few more hours to the job. Unsure if I should just put stuff back together and schedule with the local mechanic maybe. Guessing it would be $1,000 by the time it's out of there though. I enjoy tackling those projects but the farm is just fixing to getting busy here.
