I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what you have done to correct it. My ac blows perfectly when I am driving but when I have to come to a stop and just sitting at idle it’s will blow hot air. I thought maybe the fan was not registering it needed to kick on so I changed the fan resistor. Which the old one looked like it had cracks so was obviously needed. But that did not work the car still blows out hot air at idle. But when I give it gas it will start blowing cold. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this and what I can do to fix it. Thank you.

Check your freon level

Check to see if your radiator fans are running. You get cold air while moving because there is air going through the AC's radiator. The fans are designed to move that cooling air through when you are stopped.

The fans could be inoperative by a bad fuse or loose wire. If your car has been in a head on accident the repair shop may not have reinstalled everything properly.
