According to J.D. we Hyundai owners are the most loyal

So... sonataforum members, are you loyal to the Hyundai brand?

Hyundai is on a roll. After reporting strong sales in 2011 and winning the North American Car of the Year Award for its Elantra sedan, the Korean automaker got more good news from J.D. Power and Associates. In the results of J.D. Power's Customer Retention Study, Hyundai came out on top in terms of brand loyalty.

The study, which J.D. Power skipped in 2011, charts customer-loyalty rates by vehicle brand, looking at who remains loyal and to which automaker. For 2012, the industry brand loyalty average is 49%, with Hyundai riding the top of the list at 64%, according to the study.

Hyundai's success is likely driven by the brand's recent overhaul of several of its vehicles, its value pricing strategy and its Assurance buyback program.

Tied for second on the list are Ford and Honda, each with a 60% customer retention rate. Winning the most-improved title is the Jeep brand; its retention rate jumped from 34% in 2011 to 51% in 2012.

The study, which also looks at age- and gender-related buying trends, found that women and younger consumers are the hardest to retain within a brand. Those that rank high in retaining women include Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz also ranks high in attracting and keeping younger buyers, as does Ford, Kia and Lexus.

Rounding out the bottom of the list were Suzuki at 20% and Saab at 7%.

I'd say yes...Hyundai earned it. I have leased Toyotas, Hondas, Pontiacs and Chryslers from 1990 to 2010...In virtually every car..by the second year of ownership, I couldn't wait to get out..and move on to the next car. 2 Months into my 1st 2011 Sonata Lease I said "I like this car so much, I might actually buy it out at lease end"

Instead, I just leased a 2012 SE with nav...same car, same terms. I can't help it..It's just a **** good car for the money, Looks great, comfortable..more bells and whistles than I've ever had...and I can't help it...It's just a easy car to like.

Not yet! I have yet to be a Sonata owner but as I learn more about the brand, my faith in it keeps growing. I can see my self being a future loyal Hyundai owner if that counts!

Loyal Hyundai Owner

Yes, I am a loyal Hyundai owner. I purchased my first Hyundai in 1989; a Sonata GLS M/T; its funny that that car had the same engine that is being used today (in fact it may have been bigger, it was the 2.4L Lambda 4 cylinder). Then 20 years later to the month (March 2009), I purchased my second Hyundai. This time a 2009 Sonata Limited 3.3L V6. A year later I purchased my third Hyundai (July 2010); a 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track A/T. I am stuck on Hyundai, cause Hyundai's stuck on me, LOL!

This is my 2nd Hyundai since 09. I like them, after I'm done with payments I'm getting myself a V8 Genesis

NOT YET! As I'm new to the brand with my 2012 SE but loving it so far, can see me swapping it for 2014 version so long as it keeps going so well.
