I have a '11 Sonata. I was hearing what I believed to be a tire out of round. I wanted to see if a drag against the brakes might show something. At 30 mph I tried to keep power as I slightly applied the brakes but all it did was slow the car. I had no power no matter how far I pressed the accelerator. Once I lifted off the brake pedel the engine would rev back up and power would resume. I don't think it is normal that the engine would have no response once the brakes are applied. I took it to the dealer today and he was giving me some garbage about toyotas and their recall. Any suggestions?

Greg its normal.

The 2011 Sonata is equipped with a brake override system. This basically says that you can't accelerate while using the brake at the same time.
