I drive a 2004 Sonata with the four cylinder engine, no anti-lock brakes (Base trim level, I believe), and 139,00 miles.

While replacing my front brake pads, the dealer stated that the CV boot on my front driver's side axle is split in half and leaking. They also said that they can't just replace the CV boot itself; I have to replace the whole axle, which would come to about $500-$600 with labor.

Before I consider this, I wanted to verify this. Do I need to buy a whole new axle to replace just the CV boot?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Brian
