I bought a new 2012 Sonata this week. I come from the rear wheel drive world and noticed 2 things that may/may not be normal. Whenever the car is moving - in gear or neutral - there is a subtle whine that seems to be related to road speed rather than engine rpm. When I come to a stop at about 30 mph the transmission seems to engage and slow down the car kind of like the torque converter lock up is not disengaging or rather re- engaging. Is this normal for my car or do I need to talk to the dealer?
I am a Sonata newbie and otherwise really like the car.
Thanks

When you let off the gas it should disengage and let you roll forward easier. Just bring it to the dealer and ask them if it's normal. It's hard to tell you what it's like without being in the car with you.
