I just noticed the left rear wheel has quite a few, probably 5" worth of wheel weights on the inside of the rim. But only the left rear wheel, none of the others have them. I can see and feel where it looks like weights have once been but were removed. I guess one tire just needed alot of balancing? Extra rotating weight.... just what I need! :D:rolleyes:

Seems unlikely to me that one wheel would be way off balance and the other three in perfect balance. If you're getting noise from them or any odd vibrations it's probably worth it to get everything re-balanced.

Funny you say that, I do get a vibration around 75 mph... Guess I should look into that. I do also get some slight steering wheel wobble while making turns at low speed. No idea what could cause that...

Both issues are probably related to the wheel balancing. Your car could be out of alignment too, but I'd start with the wheels first.

I called the dealer and the sales rep said that since Ive only had the car for 2 weeks, if it needs a balancing they will take care of it. I mentioned that Ive felt the slight wobble since I got it, so I hope they do it for free.

On a side note, does anyone know the weight of the 17" 09/10 SE wheels? Im thinking of getting some 18" wheels and want to check out some lightweight models and am curious if they will be any lighter than the stock rims.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t44088-sonata-wheeltire-specs.htm 22lbs according to this.

wobbling in the wheel is the front wheels out of balance. or alignment is off.

if you feel a vibration at 75mph in the seat of your pants, its the rear wheels out of balance, or alignment is off.

Start with balancing the wheels all around. will fix vibration issues 3 out of 4 times.
