I have always changed my Transmission Fluid using the Hyundai Fluid every 50,000 miles. I have 130,000 on this vehicle it appears when driving in D-Overdrive I have begun to notice not a hard shift on the autotranmission from one gear to another it is more of a light shutter or even a engine miss.

That said when transitioning in speed from 15 to 20 or 45-50 you will feel this. I have no engine codes showing on the dash or OBD codes from 2 different locations. When at idle no rough idling. When making a quick accleration no miss or major hesitation. This one has me. Transmission?

Gas is good quality. Denso Plugs have 35-40K on them. Original Coil Packs on vehicle. Yes it is a 2.4 and uses oil every 600 miles. What on the transmission could give it this type of light shutter before engagement in the next gear. If you are driving and doing a real accleration you feel nothing. Thoughts?

Are you using an inexpensive code reader? A more sophisticated code reader, like at your dealership, will provide much more information about engine/transmission operation. A mechanic skilled at reading the data will probably determine the issue.

Hi - What did you ever find out about this? I have a problem that I think is the engine but it actually might be the transmission. Occasionally is going uphill (not steep) at speed (over 60 but usually over 70) the car seems to hesitate or miss and then it seems to have a really hard time shifting. It got so bad once last Summer I think the car went into limp mode. Then I filled it up with gas and it ran amazing but it does seem to still hesitate a bit uphill at speed. Hope you were able to figure it out.
